The 10K Uganda Biobank refers to our large-scale biomedical resource that collected biological samples (like blood, DNA, serum, plasma) and detailed mental health including PTSD, MDD, generalised anxiety disorders, suicidality and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, alcohol and substance abuse and the biological samples for testing a range of cardiometabolic traits and kidney function. The recruitment and sample collection study was undertaken within the general population cohort (GPC) of MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit (the Unit). The GPC is an active cohort of ~22,000 participants, whose population is well-characterised, with GPS coordinates for all households and >95% of households agreeing to participate in studies. The GPC comprises of all residents within 25 villages drawn from a sub-county in Kalungu district, Uganda.
