We welcome talented researchers and students to collaborate with our team across Uganda and the UK.
Opportunities are competitive and based on fit, merit, and alignment with our ongoing work. If you are an independent, motivated researcher with a strong academic background and a clear research vision, you may be the right fit for one of the following pathways:
Exchange Fellowships (Externally Funded)
We welcome visiting researchers who are independently funded (e.g., through travel fellowships or international exchange schemes) to undertake a research fellowship with our group.
If you have identified or secured external funding, feel free to contact us with your research proposal and intended timeframe.
Due to the high number of requests we we kindly ask that you only contact us if you meet the listed criteria. Please note, we do not currently provide financial sponsorship for visiting fellows.
PhD Studentships (Self-Funded / Scholarships)
We support select candidates pursuing PhD studies that are able to self-fund or apply for government/university scholarships (e.g., Commonwealth, DAAD, Wellcome, Gates Foundation).
We can provide collaborative supervision between institutions in Uganda and the UK. To apply, contact a group-affiliated investigator with a clear research proposal and funding plan. We will assess alignment and, if suitable, support your application to a host institution.
Please note, we do not currently have funding to fund PhD positions directly.
Hiring Opportunities
From time to time, we recruit for specific roles, such as Postdoctoral Researchers, Research Fellows or Project Staff. When available, these roles will be listed on this page, and applications should be submitted only through the link provided in the relevant job posting.
