Bio

Oumou Maiga is a pharmacist who also has a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics. She has a strong interest in virology, human genetics and genomic epidemiology. Her academic training and work focus on the application of computational and statistical methods to understand the genetic basis of complex diseases.

Her research concentrates on renal genetics and the analysis of complex traits in African populations and Afro-descendant populations. Oumou is motivated by the potential of genomics to improve understanding of diseases and reduce health inequalities.
She has actively participated in academic conferences and genetics training programmes, reflecting her commitment to developing her expertise and contributing to collaborative genomics research initiatives.
