Bio

Lillian Linda is a PhD student at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the NCD Genomics at MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit. She holds a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Technology and an MSc Bioinformatics. Lillian is interested in statistical genetics and epigenetics research and has previously worked on exploring genetics of major depressive disorder, where she used methods like genome-wide association analyses, Bayesian fine-mapping and Mendelian randomization. Her PhD focuses on validating methods that use blood DNA methylation data to infer estimates of blood cell composition across diverse populations and identifying the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to variation in these estimates between different ancestry groups.
