Florence Nakabiri is a PhD student, passionate about using genomics to improve health outcomes in Africa. She holds a master’s degree in bioinformatics from Makerere University, where she worked on malaria genomics.
Her current research focuses on the genetic determinants of blood pressure as part of her doctoral studies. Her broader interests cover human genetics of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including hypertension, kidney disease, and cancer. She has gained international training in human genomics and integrative bioinformatics and is committed to advancing African-led genomic research, building local capacity, and translating discoveries into solutions for NCDs.
